The Southwest Michigan Young Marines Announce
2008 Recruit Camp Dates!
The only way to become a Young Marine is to go through and graduate from our 13-week recruit camp.
We accept children, male and female, between the ages of 8 and 18.

Summer 2008 Boot Camp
During our Information Night we will explain the program and what it can offer your child.
We will discuss the requirements, costs, and schedule. We will answer your questions and you will be able to observe
our Young Marines in action. Your children will also be able to talk to our Young Marines and participate in their activities.
We will hand out copies of the registration packet during this meeting. You may also download the registration packet

It is important that both you and your child(ren) attend this meeting so that you can both make
an informed decision about being a part of this program.
We will accept registration materials during this evening and prior to beginning drill on 18 June 2008.
Completed registration materials are only accepted during the registration night specified below.
Registration
Wednesday,11 June 2008 6 - 7:30pm, at the Navy/Marine Corps Center
It is very important to bring completed registration materials and copies
of the child's:
Social Security Card
Immunization Record
Medical Card (front and back)
We enroll up to 50 recruits in each Recruit Camp. If more than 50 recruits sign up for our
Recruit Camp we will hold a random drawing by putting all completed registration packets in a box and drawing
out 50 names.
Recruit Camp Begins
Wednesday, 18 June 2008, 5:30 - 8pm, Navy/Marine Corps Center
Recruit Camp will continue for 13 weeks, each Wednesday from 5:30 - 8pm, detailed schedule. Click here for a detailed schedule. A recruit is allowed only 3 excused absences during Recruit Camp.
A Recruit with more than 3 absences (excused or not) will not be eligible to graduate from Recruit Camp. We strongly
encourage attendance each and every week. We introduce new material each week and a recruit will fall behind quickly if
s/he misses even one session.
Reregistration: Reregistration of Young
Marines is required yearly and is due the first week in November.
